Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-Body Systems

Organizers:

A. Celi (UAB), P. Massignan (UPC), S. Hirthe (ICFO), L. Tarruell (ICFO, ICREA)

The goal of this one-week school is to introduce young students and researchers to key themes and latest developments in the field of ultracold quantum many-body systems, as well as to promote the interaction between young and established members of this rapidly-growing community.

The speakers are internationally-recognized researchers in both theory and experiment, aiming to give a comprehensive view of the current state of the art of the field. The School will cover a broad range of themes such as:

- Few- and many-body physics
- Quantum simulation
- Ultracold molecules
- Rydberg atoms in optical tweezers
- Topological quantum matter
- Lattice gauge theories
- Ultracold atoms in optical lattices
- 2D quantum gases
- Strongly correlated fermions

Benasque is a beautiful mountain village located 1140 m above sea level offering fantastic landscapes, scenic hikes to the highest peaks in the Pyrenees, and easy access to the nearby ski slopes of Cerler.

The School will start on Monday, February 2. The participants are expected to arrive on Sunday 1, and a bus will be organized to facilitate the transport from the airport of Barcelona on that day. The School will end on Friday, February 6, and a bus returning to Barcelona airport will be organized on Saturday 7.

The second edition of the 'Winter School on Ultracold Quantum Many-body Systems' is organized by the Catalonia Quantum Academy (CQA).
