Mission
The Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual is a facility for the Spanish scientific system. This Centre offers the possibility to organize international meetings in Benasque, a beautiful village located in the heart of the Pyrenees.
The Centre is governed by a nonprofit Foundation, making every effort in order to
streamline administrative procedures and remove bureaucratic obstacles,
as much as possible.
The use of the Centre is open to the entire international scientific community.
Any group of scientists may propose the organization of an international meeting focused on
a specific subject. Once the proposal is approved, the Centre provides secretarial and
computer system support. The Centre also takes care of creating and maintaining all workshop webpages
as well as handling applications and hotel reservations.

A sustainable building
The building hosting the Centre has been designed following the principles of sustainability.
It uses a sophisticated thermal isolation, biomass heating, automated ventilation and saving settings for all lighting.
The design of the building follows a division of functions: the ground floor offers
secretarial services, computers and a relax area; the first floor houses desk space
and ubiquous boards; the second floor offers a large modular hall that can accommodate up to 180 people.
The building is the work of the architect Isabel Pascual. Part of the furniture has been designed
by the architecture firm EMBT. The Centre follows the rules of fair trade and use of local goods.
