2018 QSPACE Training School

2018, Sep 23 -- Sep 30

Organizers:
M. Asorey (Zaragoza University - Benasque CCBPP)
J. M. Gracia-Bondia (Zaragoza University)
B. Jurco (Charles University, Prague)
C. Martin (Complutense University, Madrid)
M. Schlichenmaier (Luxemburg University)

The 2018 QSPACE Training School is an International Physics School aimed to provide an advanced specialization to Ph. D. students and young researchers on the field of noncommutative geometry structures, and more generally in novel mathematical methods of quantum gravity, strings and field theory.

The program of the School combines five courses and two specialized seminars with individual work supervised by tutors. Lectures will be delivered mostly in the mornings, whereas Tutorials and Special Talks on selected topics will be reserved for the afternoons. Students will work through the solutions of problems proposed by lecturers, with the help of tutors. All students are also encouraged to present and discuss their work during specific sessions (Student Seminars).

Courses

- A. Cattaneo (Zurich U.): The BV-BFV formalism
- Y. Fregier (L M de Lens): Deformation theory and structures up to homotopy.
- C. Sleight (Université Libre de Bruxelles): Higher spin theories
- J. Trnka (U. California, Davis, QMAP): Grassmannian geometry of scattering amplitudes
- W.D. van Suijlekom (Nijmegen U., IMAPP): Noncommutative Geometry and Particle Physics

Seminars

- J. M. Gracia-Bondia (Zaragoza University)
- B. Jurco (Charles University, Prague)
- J. Trampetic (R. Boskovic Institute, Croacia): Quantum duality of the noncommutative field theories related by theta-exact Seiberg-Witten map and its cosmological consequences,
- R. Szabo (Heriot-Watt U.) Perspectives on Nonassociative Geometry,
- J. C. Várilly (Costa Rica U.): String-local quantum fields: an overview

It is convenient to invite young graduates, Ph D students and early career postdocs to register as soon as possible. Financial aid is available, and in this respect early registration is advisable.

Benasque is a beautiful village located in the Spanish Pyrenees, just at the bottom of their highest mountain (Pico de Aneto), with a wonderful countryside/hiking environment. The Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual (http://benasque.org/) is an international meeting infrastructure which provides excellent facilities and an agreeable atmosphere to allow the participants to interact with senior speakers and tutors and also to carry their work during the meeting. The lecture halls and the rooms for discussion sessions are located in the Centre. Computing and electronic communication facilities are available.
