XLIX International Meeting on Fundamental Physics

2022, Sep 05 -- Sep 10

Organizers:
IFIC (CSIC-Universitat de València)

The International Meeting on Fundamental Physics is the Spanish Symposium on high energy particle physics with the longest tradition. Since its creation in 1973, it has been organized on an annual basis by each of the main Spanish groups in turn (check list of previous meetings). Its scientific programs have included dedicated reviews with the latest results in the fields of particle and astroparticle physics and cosmology.

The 2022 edition, organized by the Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC) of the Spanish Research Council (CSIC) and the University of Valencia (UV), will have as a highlight the celebration of the LHC Run-3 start-up with fresh results and the 10th anniversary of the Higgs boson discovery with the achieved understanding. The program also includes latest experimental results and theoretical advances in flavour and neutrino physics, dark matter, cosmology, axions, gravitational waves, neutrino and gamma ray messengers. Dedicated talks will overview the detector and computing technological challenges for future accelerators as well as for rare event search experiments. The meeting will close with a discussion on the Spanish scientific policy and strategy in particle physics.

Benasque

Benasque, is a beautiful village located 1140 m above sea level in a valley in the heart of the Pyrenees. The beautiful landscapes and the proximity to the highest mountains of Pyrenees make Benasque one of the main tourist sites in the region.

The venue of the meeting will the Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual, a 25 years old facility devoted to the organization of international scientific meetings (http://benasque.org).
